There are three new changes that I’ve just implemented on the site. Just thought I’d share a bit.
First, a great big huge thanks to the folks who have visited my Amazon Wish List and purchased a book or two (or four, thanks!). In order to keep the posts as factual and interesting as possible, books, both primary and well-researched secondary, are essential. Thanks for understanding that and helping.
I’ve also received a request or two for a way to donate money without selecting a book. If you’ll take a look to your right, you’ll see that I’ve added a PayPal donation button. Again, thank you. Any donations received will be solely used for more books and for the upkeep of this site.
In other news, I’ve also received a few requests asking to be able to subscribe to the blog via email. It’s not a bad idea, so I looked into it and made it happen. Basically, if you subscribe via the box on the right sidebar, you’ll be emailed every time I update the site. For some, it’s a good way to be reminded that the Civil War Daily Gazette exists.
The third change is probably less interesting. I’ve added the ability to comment via Facebook. You can still comment the regular way, if you like, but now you can do it via your Facebook account. I’m not completely sold on this idea, but thought I’d give it a try anyway. You can also login to the blog via Facebook.
Oh, also, I connected the blog with Twitter. I believe this will make things like tweeting the posts easier to do. It also makes it easier for me to tweet about the post. Anyway, all the cool kids are doing it, so I thought that I would too.
